Awesomeness

Apologies first, as this has nothing much to do with running.

Some things occured to me on my drive home tonight. There was a lot of thought that pre-empted this but what it all finally came down to is that I am so lucky to know so many amazing people and experience all that I've experienced. There've been many times in my life where I've acted selfishly or said mean things or had mean thoughts. I have days where I feel sarcastic and bitchy and cynical. But I also have many many days where I wonder why I waste my energy being negative. I think it's normal to have bad days and think that you really really hate what someone else is wearing but there's so much out there that's good and wonderful and positive to focus on. There's awesome stuff out there and there are awesome people behind it. There are people who have made so much of a difference in my life and who have remained my friends even when I've been not so nice...

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this but I am definitely feeling very grateful today. I'm thankful for all of my family and friends who put up with my crap (and often utter laziness) and know that somewhere in me is a trully good person. I'm thankful for all of the opportunities I've had, as well as all of the mistakes and hardships. I think there's a lot to be learned in this lifetime and a lot of amazing things that can happen. There will, no doubt, be some pretty low times, too. We've all been through that and know how devestating it can be. But we've also all gotten past those low points to see something far more promising on the horizon.

I'm at a point right now where I feel that no matter what happens, I will be okay.  I have the ability to get what I want out of life, even if I decide to take many many many detours. I have an incredible journey ahead of me and equally incredible people with whom to share it.

Ah this is getting so sappy I can hardly stand it! :) So that's enough for now.

  1. Although I don't know you that well, I feel that you are a person that can and will do whatever you want, and you won't let anybody or anything stand in your way. That is not being bitchy, or rude, or selfish. It's being you.
