And Here's Why Simon's Cool!

Let me preface this by saying this is meant to be a joke. I know humor is just completely lost on some people. Hopefully nobody with too much time on his or her little hands will find this and have an "Oh. My. God. Becky" moment on Let's Run.

So I got an email from Runcolo.com's mastermind Simon saying he thought it'd be funny to do a time prediction contest featuring my apparently controversial Amphipod bottle. I totally agree! So check it out http://www.runcolo.com/content/heather-utrata-prediction-contest-656/, enjoy the amazing love between myself and my water bottle, predict my marathon time, and win some stuff!

Usually in a bigger race I have three goal times (I think a lot of people do this). I have one time that's just a minimum kind of "okay, I better at least make this time" type of thing. The second time is more aggressive but still pretty doable if I race smart. The third is even more aggressive and kind of a pipe dream but still at least a tiny bit possible if all conditions are absolutely perfect and I'm totally on fire. I won't say specifically what my goals are and what I feel I'm capable of, but I am looking forward to a trip to Houston in January.

  1. I just commented on the Runcolo site about your time. I think you are totally going to rock this course. I drove the course over the weekend and it is really flat. Good Luck!

  2. Hope you run your pipe dream time and silence the haters!

  3. Do what you set out to do, don't worry about others think or what their predictions are. You have the talent, work ethic, and will to get the time, and I truly believe that you have it in yourself to achieve that. So go out there and run OTQ and silence all of the naysayers.
