Marathoning and Photographing (not at the same time)

Carl has been posting in his blog (http://kinneyrace.blogspot.com/view/classic) and... it's better than mine. Reading it made me feel a tad jealous and reminded me that I've been kind of/really neglecting my own. I haven't had much to say! Perhaps not... I always have plenty to say, but recently haven't been in the mood to write and haven't had an ounce of time either way.

But now I have quite the little cold and I've been sitting on my rear all day, so, I suppose I can take a few minutes to work on this.

Running has been...? I don't even know. I can't believe I'm about to run another marathon. Only 9 days away now. I'm having a hard time really and truly focusing on it because it just doesn't seem factual that I'm racing this so close to my last one. I'm a little afraid that's it's a bad idea and that I'm not good enough/strong enough/experienced enough/tough enough to handle it. I think I'm in good hands and I think I'd have been told by now that it was time to cut my losses if that was really the case, but part of me wonders a little... But that's not to say that I'm not excited for it. How could I not be? There's so much that could come of it.

I've been really into talking pictures lately. Which, by the way, has absolutely nothing to do with running. I'm not quite sure why the sudden obsession but I would say it has at least something to do with me finding a few new features on the camera on my phone:

Berry tree branches

Carl at Sanitas

Me at Sanitas

Some cows in Boulder

Really liked the lighting at Sanitas

Lilacs

Pear tree leaves

The sky at the end of a snow storm

More pear tree leaves

Sunset

Even more pear tree leaves

So, there we have it! The (very) amateur photography has been a nice little outlet

And that will have to be it. The Theraflu is kicking in.

  2. Great pics! It's not the challenges, but how you overcome them that makes all the difference. You are a champion! I hope you feel better.

  3. Taking pictures is a great compliment to running actually. I used to try and take at least 1 photo on each of my outings (I've been a bit light lately) but find it to be a great way to slow down even just for a bit and enjoy why we are out there.

The fact that you are not making it an "A" race may be a good thing. You will be more relaxed about the performance and run with what you have that day.

That's all any of us can ask for!
